No matter how full our plates are, there’s always room for our children — and their heritage.

We are a not-for-profit bringing families together through food, culture, and play.

Find Joy

At Joyful Plates, we believe learning about culture should be playful, hands-on, and joyful. Whether you're tossing a wok, designing tangyuan, or colouring in heritage tiles — there's always something meaningful on the plate.

What People Say

Thank you for organising such a fun and educational event. As an adult I also had a great time and learnt something about the dragon boat festival myself. The children's zong zi tasted delicious!

Our Story

PXL_20250413_061047445.MP (1).jpg

Joyful Plates was born from our founder, Rachel's desire to bring her heritage to life for her children — and quickly grew into a community of families seeking joy, belonging, and cultural connection.

In 2025, we became a registered not-for-profit to stay true to our mission: to help families connect with culture in meaningful, playful ways.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the many lands on which we meet, work and live, and we pay our respects to Elders past and present - people who have sung their songs, danced their dances and told their stories on these lands for thousands of generations, and who continue to do so.
