Participation Terms for Joyful Plates Events
Effective Date: 01 February 2024
(Applies to all participants, including children, parents, guardians, and accompanying adults)
By registering for and attending a Joyful Plates event, I confirm that I, along with any participant(s) I am registering (including children, family members, or accompanying adults), agree to the following terms:
1. Consent to Participate
understand that Joyful Plates events may include cooking, crafting, storytelling, games, and other hands-on or interactive activities. I voluntarily consent to the participation of myself and any accompanying child(ren) or adult(s) I am registering in these activities.
2. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that participation in these activities may involve inherent risks such as minor injuries, burns, allergic reactions, or other incidents. I accept full responsibility for any risk of injury or loss that may result from participation in Joyful Plates programs and events.
3. Release and Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release and hold harmless Joyful Plates, its directors, staff, contractors, volunteers, and partners from any and all liability, claims, or demands for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur to me or any participant I am registering, arising out of or connected with participation in any Joyful Plates activity.
4. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and defend Joyful Plates against any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from the actions or participation of myself or any participant I am registering.
5. Medical Treatment Consent
n the event of an emergency, and if I cannot be reached, I authorize Joyful Plates and its representatives to obtain necessary medical care for myself or the participant(s) I am registering. I understand that I am responsible for any medical costs incurred.
6. Photo and Media Release
I understand that photographs and videos may be taken during Joyful Plates events and may be used for promotional purposes including websites, social media, newsletters, and print materials. I grant Joyful Plates permission to use such media featuring me and/or any participant I am registering without compensation.
If I prefer that myself or my child(ren) not be photographed or recorded, I understand that I must notify Joyful Plates in writing before the event. Joyful Plates will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, though full exclusion from group photos or candid shots may not always be possible.
7. Participant Conduct
I acknowledge that Joyful Plates strives to create a joyful, inclusive, and respectful environment. I understand that if any participant (child or adult) engages in behavior that is disruptive or unsafe, Joyful Plates reserves the right to remove them from the event without refund.
8. Singapore Global Network Survey Requirement (If Applicable)
For events supported by the Singapore Global Network, I understand that participation is contingent upon completing the required SGN survey. I acknowledge that failure to submit the survey may result in denial of entry to the event.
By proceeding with registration, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Participation Terms on behalf of myself and all participant(s) I am registering.
