About the event
🐉 If you missed out on our Dragon Boat Festival Family Event, here's your golden opportunity!
We're thrilled to announce a special collaboration with Aunty Jenny from Cooking with Jenny Melbourne for an unforgettable drop-off workshop at Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre!
🚣♀️ Join us on 23 June (Sunday) from 2 to 4.30pm for an immersive experience designed for children aged 7 to 12. It's a chance for young adventurers to dive into the rich tapestry of the Dragon Boat Festival, where they'll embark on a journey of cooking, crafting, and cultural discovery.
Under Aunty Jenny's expert guidance, kids will roll up their sleeves and learn to make thier own Zongzi. We will also be doing crafting together - sewing a "rice dumpling" bag, and reading stories in English and Mandarin, also reinforcing learning through some activity sheets we will complete together.
But it's not just about the activities; it's about immersing children in the stories and traditions that make the Dragon Boat Festival so special. Throughout the workshop, they'll uncover the fascinating legends behind the festival and gain a deeper appreciation for Chinese culture and heritage.
Spaces are limited, so don't delay! Secure your child's spot now for 2.5 hours of culinary delights, creative exploration, and cultural immersion at Surrey Hills Neighbourhood Centre. 🌟
